Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Floyd moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career after college. He landed a string of TV movies, including Malicious Motives, A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane

, and Help Wanted, and appeared in several independent films before embarking on the daytime world.
