Coronation Street’s Samia Longchambon declares ‘I’m ready’ after revealing what ‘usually makes her sad’

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has declared that she’s ‘ready’ for the season ahead after sharing what ‘usually makes her sad’ with her fans.
The actress is best known for playing Maria Windass – nee Sutherland and Connor – in the ITV soap having made her debut back in 2000 after beating Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh and Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw to land the role.
The character was originally a kennelmaid at Sutherland’s Kennels and was brought into the Weatherfield fold when she agreed to marry Tyrone, after he proposed atop Blackpool Tower.
In that time, Samia has only taken two breaks from the soap, in late 2009 and in 2015, both on maternity leave and the soap star, who hasn’t been short of dramatic storylines, has since celebrated 25 years on the cobbles.
Away from her fictional world, Samia regularly updates fans of her real life. Recently, she gave a glimpse into how she spent her summer break and shared that she is now ready to embrace the autumn months.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday (September 5), Samia shared a selfie in which she could be seen posing in a mirror while sporting a black and white striped jumper with a black leather mini skirt, black tights and boots.
Alongside the snap, the mum-of-two wrote to her thousands of followers: “September. Kids are back in school, I’m making bone broth and the sweaters are out.. it’s like summer never happened. But I don’t hate it.

“I do usually feel sad when the summer holidays end but maybe because we had a decent summer weather wise, I don’t feel cheated out of a season. So bring on the Cinnamon lattes, blankets and home made soups.. I’m ready for Autumn.”
It comes after Samia swapped Weatherfield for Greece over the summer. Following her return to the UK, Samia took to Instagram with a string of snaps from her sun-soaked trip to Corfu. In one set, the soap star could be seen aboard a boat alongside husband Sylvain, who is best known for being a professional skater on Dancing on Ice.
She also included a snap of a stunning vibrant sunset an was all smiles as she posed for the camera in a turqouise patterned bikini which she teamed with a pair of brown shorts.
Alongside the post, Samia wrote: “Had a Mamma Mia moment on a cute boat in Corfu. The last pic might be the best I’ve ever taken of a sunset.. #kefalonia #summer25 #greece.”
And the comments quickly came flooding in. Corrie co-star Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Connor, asked: “Could you BE any fitter??” Abi Webster actress Sally Carman-Duttine said: “Gorgeous.” Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield star Michelle Hardwick also commented: “You look stunning.”

Fans were also quick to agree. @xjeankellyx said: “Stunning as always. The picture of the sunset is beautiful.” @eileen.hlzw commented: “Oh my gosh such fabulous pics and you look amazing wow x have the best time.”

Meanwhile, Samia was also seen gushing over her husband as she shared a snap of the shirtless Frenchman to her Instagram Story and said: “We recently celebrated 9 years married @slongchambon… It’s a tough job but I crack on with it,” before adding a winking face emoji, a flame emoji and a crying laughing face emoji.
