Casualty in major schedule shake-up next week – and it’s good news for fans of BBC show..

CASUALTY will air a double episode in September amid schedule changes.

BBC One will show two consecutive episodes of the medical drama back-to-back on on Saturday 2nd September 2023.

Upcoming scenes will see Max’s health continue to fail him but he remains in denial

The first episode will air at 8.30pm and the second episode will begin at 9.20pm, with a scheduled finish time of 10.10pm.

The synopsis for the first episode reads: “Max’s health fails him but he remains in denial, whilst Faith’s lies unravel and Teddy seeks advice from Gethin.”

The second episode says: “Stevie keeps a close eye on Faith as she implodes, Jodie has an unexpected reunion much to Max’s dismay, and Teddy makes an impulsive decision.”

One major storyline that has developed over the past few weeks is nurse Faith’s addiction to drugs.

Viewers were left open-mouthed when Faith lied about having ovarian cancer in order to secure diazepam.

Some found it hard to believe that Faith would lie about such a thing given her son, Luka, had his own battle with cancer.

Faith actress Kirsty Mitchell addressed the backlash on social media.

She wrote: “I wanted to take a moment to address the recent storyline on #Casualty involving my character Faith.

“I understand that last night’s episode might have touched upon a delicate subject and may have caused concerns among some of you.

“It’s important to remember that the show’s creative team aims to spark conversations and shed light on various aspects of life, even when they’re uncomfortable.

“Your support of Faith means the world to me. Please know that I’m just as eager as you are to see how her journey unfolds and how she navigates the challenges ahead. Thank you for being such incredible fans.”

Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
