Coronation Street’s Bethany to face dramatic salon showdown with unexpected target

Coronation Street fans see the claws come out next week, as Bethany Platt and Hope Dobbs clash over a theft at the salon. The pair’s tussle soon turns violent, resulting in Bethany’s stoma splitting in front of the customers.

As the dust settles, will Hope realise that Bethany had her best interests at heart, or has a new workplace rivalry begun?

“There’s always trouble when Hope is around – and this time it’s Bethany who’s on the receiving end,” our Corrie source warns.

The trouble begins as Bethany goes on the hunt for work after fleeing her last job in London. So, when her great-gran Audrey Roberts suggests the salon could do with a nail technician, it’s an offer she can’t refuse.

Arriving for her first shift, Bethany learns that as well as painting nails, she’s also in charge of Hope, who’s on work experience.

The girls get chatting to a client, who waxes lyrical about new “miracle pills” she’s on. Hope listens on in fascination as the customer reels off all the benefits of the meds – strong hair, healthy nails and weight loss.

“Hope is totally taken in by this woman’s sales pitch, but Bethany isn’t as gullible,” our insider explains. “She’s learnt from experience the grave risks of pursuing cosmetic perfection.”

Bethany tries to explain to Hope how these businesses target vulnerable people, and don’t give a toss about your health. She also uses the example of her botched surgery in Turkey as a warning for Hope to stay well clear. But will the impressionable teen listen to reason?

Later, as the client goes to leave, she realises her pills have gone missing. It doesn’t take a genius to work out who’s swiped them and Bethany orders Hope to empty her bag.

She refuses, so Bethany decides to take a look herself. But as she goes to grab the bag, her stoma splits.

Will Bethany be okay? And is Hope about to be caught red-handed?
