Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly teases ‘trouble’ for Ruby in Christmas spoiler

Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly teased that there’s some “trouble” ahead for Ruby in a “fun” Christmas spoiler for the ITV soap.

Actress Beth Cordingly made her Emmerdale debut as Ruby Miligan last year. Introduced to the Dales as a feisty addition to the village, it took some time for the viewers to get to know the real her.

When her estranged father Anthony Fox arrived in the village with her daughter Steph Miligan, Ruby’s defences were up and it was later revealed why.

In flashbacks that aired, Anthony had repeatedly sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager – and through a DNA test it was later revealed that he had also fathered Steph.

Anthony was then killed by Ruby after Aaron Dingle had learned the truth and proceeded to beat him to a pulp after remembering what his own biological father did to him.

In recent episodes, John Sugden who helped hide his body was exposed for all of his other harrowing crimes – leading to Caleb helping him flee in exchange to keep Ruby’s name away from the police.

Although Ruby has suffered enough drama this year, it appears there’s more yet to come, Beth confirmed to Digital Spy.

She teased: “We’ve just started filming Christmas. Ruby has something fun that happens which I think the viewers will enjoy. It involves a bit of Manpreet, Caleb getting annoyed – and Ruby trying to get herself out of trouble…”

After scenes of Manpreet and Ruby deciding to end their rivalry aired recently, Beth added: “You’ll see more of Ruby and Manpreet together – we’re now friends!

“I loved filming those scenes with Rebecca Sarker, who plays Manpreet. And Laura Norton [aka Kerry] is such a brilliant comic actress too.

“I wanted Ruby to wear a hard hat and a high vis in the depot but not have a clue what she’s doing!”‌

This comes weeks after Beth shared that her dad reads online fan theories about her character in Emmerdale.

The actress shared: “My dad gets on his news feed what the fans think. They all think [Anthony] is coming back.

“I hope not!”, she responded with a laugh.
