Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank has shared a cosy snap with his co-stars on set. The actor is best known for his role as Billy Mayhew on the ITV soap, since he first appeared in Weatherfield in 2014. He arrived as the new partner of Sean Tully, before dating Todd Grimshaw and then Paul Foreman.

The Weatherfield vicar soon became a fan favourite and has been at the heart of some of the show’s major storylines. Last year, Billy’s onscreen husband Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) died in heartbreaking scenes after a battle with motor neurone disease (MND). Recent storylines have explored how Billy has struggled to deal with the impact of his partner’s death.

Daniel and Peter took home the award for Best Partnership at the Inside Soap Awards in 2024. They also received the award for Best Storyline at the Radio Times Soap Awards, for their portrayal of Paul’s struggle with motor neurone disease.

In recent weeks, Billy Mayhew has been caught up in the drama surrounding newcomer Theo Silverton and his new partner Todd Grimshaw. Theo’s jealously came to life as Todd met up with his good friend and ex-partner Billy for a drink in the Rovers.

Todd opened up to Billy about the ins and outs of his complicated relationship with Theo, who is still coming to terms with accepting his sexuality. But when Theo found out about Todd’s cosy chat with Billy, things went from bad to worse for Todd. Theo turned against him, and viewers were surprised to see a completely different, much darker side to Todd’s new beau.

Away from the drama, Daniel took to social media to share a selfie alongside his co-stars. Daniel shared a smiling snap with Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman), Jane Hazlegrove (Bernie Winter), Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow) and Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan).

The actor captioned the photo: “Today’s gang. Many giggles had!” with a red love heart emoji. Elle Mulvaney added a red love heart emoji and Harriet Ann Bibby wrote: “What a team.”

Many Coronation Street fans also took to the comments. One said: “Love this picture of you all.” Another wrote: “Awww you guys!!” A third added: “Lovely picture. But we are going to miss you Dan.”

Billy is expect to depart the cobbles soon, as the actor confirmed earlier this year that his time on the soap is coming to an end. Daniel took to social media to announce his exit, as he shared a photograph of the script for Billy’s exit storyline. He wrote: “Bye bye Billy.”

The actor shared a statement with The Mirror at the time. He said: “I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not looked forward to going into work. I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.”

Daniel joins the long list of stars who have said goodbye to Weatherfield in 2025. Charlotte Jordan left the door open as her character Daisy Midgeley fled from the street in a taxi earlier this year.

Eileen Grimshaw followed in her footsteps, as she left to start a new life with her son Jason. Her exit came as Sue Cleaver wanted to explore other opportunities.

Colson Smith was also written out of the show for good, as his on-screen counterpart Craig Tinker was murdered by Mick Michaelis shown in heartbreaking scenes
