Shock: Maz suddenly lost her memory when she collapsed…
Is this the end of the Maz we know and love?
In a jaw-dropping turn of events that no one saw coming, Home and Away fan favourite Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) is at the centre of a dramatic new storyline that is set to shake Summer Bay to its core.
Viewers will be left stunned next week when Marilyn suddenly collapses without warning — right in the middle of the Diner — in scenes that have been described by insiders as “utterly heartbreaking” and “a complete game-changer.”
One moment she was smiling… the next she was gone
It all begins innocently enough. Marilyn is seen going about her usual day, chatting cheerfully with customers and fussing over a fresh batch of muffins. But just as she reaches for a coffee order, she suddenly clutches her head in pain and crumples to the ground — unconscious, unresponsive, and surrounded by panicked friends.
Alf (Ray Meagher) and Roo (Georgie Parker) are the first on the scene, with Roo screaming for someone to call an ambulance. But nothing could prepare them for what comes next.
After being rushed to Northern Districts Hospital and placed under observation, the doctors deliver a shocking diagnosis — Marilyn has suffered a rare neurological episode, and as a result… she doesn’t remember anything.

“Who are you?” — Marilyn’s chilling words
In devastating scenes that will no doubt leave viewers in tears, Alf tries to comfort his long-time friend, only to be met with a blank stare. When Roo gently reminds her of their bond, Marilyn’s voice trembles as she asks, “I’m sorry… who are you?”
“She doesn’t even remember Jett. She doesn’t remember her time in the Bay. It’s like everything before the collapse has been wiped clean,” reveals an on-set insider.
The once bubbly, spiritual Marilyn is now confused, vulnerable, and lost — and those who love her are forced to watch as she struggles to reconnect with a life she no longer recognises.
Friends devastated… but is there hope?
As Alf and Roo grapple with the shock, others in the Bay rally around — including John Palmer (Shane Withington), whose connection with Marilyn runs deep. But even he is heartbroken when she recoils from his familiar face.
“There’s a moment when John realises she doesn’t know who he is, and it just crushes him,” a source reveals. “He’s devastated. They’ve been through so much, and now it’s like they’re strangers again.”
Doctors are unsure if Marilyn’s memory loss is temporary or permanent, but one thing’s for sure: this is the beginning of a long road to recovery — if she ever recovers at all.
A new beginning… or the end of everything?
While some fans are hopeful that Maz’s memories will return in time, others are bracing for heartbreak, especially with whispers that Emily Symons may be preparing for a short-term break from the show.
Producers remain tight-lipped, but one insider teases: “This is one of the most emotional storylines Home and Away has done in years. Nothing will be the same after this.”
Will Marilyn find her way back to herself — and to the Bay family who loves her? Or has the real Maz been lost forever?
Tune in to Home and Away this week to witness the SHOCKING scenes that are about to rock Summer Bay.
