Coronation Street's Sue Devaney 'secretly marries' long-term partner in low key ceremony - Daily Record

Who is Sue Devaney’s husband?

Off-screen, Sue is blissfully married to BBC journalist Jim O’Farrell. The pair tied the knot in 2024 in a cosy ceremony attended by their closest friends and family.

A source who was present at the low-key nuptials earlier this year told the Sun: “It was a beautiful day. Sue looked a million dollars.

“It was a lovely ceremony and very low-key considering Sue’s fame. Everyone is really happy for them.”

Sue doesn’t have any children and has previously spoken about prioritising her career over starting a family.

She shared with The Big Issue: “I never had any children, and I’m now nearly 50, and I think I’ve missed that opportunity, but it’s only because I was busy doing what I was doing. People think you can have it all – I don’t think you can.

“I like to do one thing and not juggle about 25 plates. I’ve got a lovely partner, my sister, and my niece. I’ve got a life outside of acting.”

Sue often shares snippets of her life with fans on social media, from fun days out with her hubby to behind-the-scenes moments on the set of Coronation Street.

In 2024, she shared a heartfelt post celebrating 15 years of impressive sobriety.

She wrote to her followers: “Celebrating 15 years of sobriety with a little dip in the Atlantic with these two beautiful baldies! Feeling the love. I keep on trudging that road to happy destiny.

“An attitude of gratitude and a life beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you to all my friends in fellowship for your patience and guidance.”
