Coronation Street fans issue demand after moment that will be ‘forever remembered’
Coronation Street fans have been issuing a demand after what a TV moment they have said will be ‘forever remembered’. Those who follow the show know that it recently joined forces with its Yorkshire neighbours, Emmerdale.
A huge 40 cast members from both ITV soaps were involved in the special crossover episode, dubbed Corriedale, which aired last Monday night (January 5), which aired to mark the change to ITV’s soap schedule.
The drama of the one-off episode followed a multi-vehicle collision and its chaotic aftermath, with characters from both Weatherfield and the Dales caught up in the horror incident.
It was later revealed that Corriedale had been watched by more than four million viewers and it also sparked a social media frenzy, with a combined reach of over 140 million across social platforms and viewers labelling it ‘the greatest hour of television I have ever seen’ and ‘absolute cinema’.
While we’re now a week on from the drama, the ripple effects are still being shown both in Corrie and Emmerdale, and those behind both shows still have content to share with fans which is causing quite the delight – and a constant demand.
Taking to Instagram, Emmerdale took the lead in sharing some behind-the-scenes pictures, which featured Ken Barlow and Eric Pollard stars William ‘Bill’ Roache and Chris Chittell, in The Woolpack, while Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher and Katie Hill were seen smiling for a photo outside Roy’s Rolls.
Alongside the post, also shared by Corrie, the caption read: “We’ve got so much Corriedale BTS, it would be rude not to share these #Corriedale,” and the comments quickly came flooding in.
