Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher announces TV return as star lets slip spoiler

Kelvin Fletcher has seemingly confirmed the return of Fletcher’s Family Farm to our screens. In his most recent Instagram story, Kelvin excitedly announced the fourth series of the ITV show.

As the ex-soap actor stepped into the sound booth to begin voice-over work for the initial episodes, he shared with his followers: “Anyway, we’re in the little sound booth today. We are doing the VO on series four, EPS one, two, and three.

“Oh, it’s good to be back, and can you believe it? Series four is coming very soon, in the next few weeks. I think it starts on the eighth of February. So that’s how late we are. That’s how late we do it. That’s how fresh it is.”

Currently, fans can tune into series one episodes airing at 7.30pm on Monday evenings. The synopsis for the forthcoming episode teases: “Emotions run high as the family hosts their first public event, while Marnie explains the importance of animal husbandry as she cares for orphaned lamb Aga.

“Bruce the boar arrives on the farm to maximise the chances of pig-breeding success, and Kelvin and Liz roll up their sleeves as they renovate the farm cottage as a holiday rental to bring in extra income,” reports the Mirror.

Last weekend, Kelvin and his wife, Liz, parents to four children, made an appearance on James Martin’s cooking programme to discuss the new series and how running a farm was never part of the family’s original plans.

Providing an update on the fourth series, Kelvin informed the TV chef: “The back end of last year, we finished series three, and then we’re already straight on with series four, so that’s coming out very soon.”

The culinary expert remarked: “So you can’t really complain about it because it was your idea to do the filming in the first place.”

The former Emmerdale star acknowledged: “We just kind of thought, it’s hopefully of interest,” adding, “It’s interesting to us and our journey into farming and to this new life, and then, we kind of pitched the idea, and thankfully, ITV thought it was a good idea, too, and four series later, we’re still doing it.”

Discussing their initial plans to relocate the family to America, Liz revealed: “As two actors, we thought, you know, Kelvin had been in Emmerdale for 20 years, and we kind of wanted to try something different, and as two actors, we thought, ‘Well, why not? Let’s go to Hollywood and LA and see what happens’.”

She continued: “And we only had two children at the time, but unfortunately, Covid stopped that, and they actually stopped the visas. We never got the visas completed because they said, ‘There’ll be a pause on this for at least two years’.”

Liz went on to say: “But we’d mentally moved on, hadn’t we? We sold the house, and we were like, ‘Well, what are we going to do now?’ And that’s when we saw the farm, and it’s literally that that sprung the idea.”
