ITV Emmerdale star Amy Walsh makes emotional admission after ‘last day’

Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has made an emotional admission after her “last day”.

The 38-year-old, who has portrayed Tracy Robinson on the ITV soap since 2014, initially arrived in the village as a potential romantic partner for Sam Dingle (James Hooton).

Throughout her decade-long tenure in the Dales, Amy has featured in numerous compelling storylines. Tracy has weathered the tragic loss of her father, Frank Clayton (Michael Praed), engaged in a controversial affair with Caleb Miligan (William Ash), and survived last year’s devastating limo crash.

The shop assistant also experienced heartbreak when her husband, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), was killed by murderer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in September 2024.

Amy’s compelling performance as Tracy has earned her multiple award nominations since joining the ITV soap. She received a nod for Serial Drama Performance at the 25th National Television Awards, alongside nominations for Best Actress at the 2021 Inside Soap Awards and Best Soap Performance at that year’s I Talk Telly Awards, reports the Mirror.

Beyond her on-screen life, Amy is married to former EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith. The pair, who tied the knot in 2023, are parents to four-year-old daughter Bonnie, and are currently awaiting the arrival of their second baby.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (February 5), Amy announced she was preparing for her last day of filming in Leeds ahead of her maternity leave. Posting a snapshot of the ITV studios’ entrance, the actress wrote: “Last day! Let’s do this.”

Amy provided additional glimpses into her life on Friday (February 6), following a peaceful babymoon getaway with her husband at a hotel in Yorkshire.

“Played pool, chess, uno, connect 4. Disconnected. Reconnected. Talked through our labour plan. Discussed baby names. Slept. Feeling so grateful,” she penned.

The star then documented the arrival of baby essentials at her home. Speaking directly to her audience in another clip, she expressed: “I just wanted to say thanks for your messages about kids sleeping in with you and your personal stories. It’s making me quite emotional and a lot of the sentiment is make the most of it because they’re not young for long.

“I really am, I actually love Bon sleeping in our bed, or me getting into hers, having those cuddles. I love it and I don’t wish it away at all, and I don’t even mind the lack of sleep most nights.

“But my worry at the moment is introducing a newborn into that mix. So, what happens then? So, that’s why I’m pushing her to be more independently sleeping because I know that I’m not going to be able to settle her when I have a newborn next to me, and that’s the tricky bit.”

Next week sees Amy’s character Tracy caught up in dramatic scenes involving John Sugden, who met his demise during last month’s Corrie crossover episode. Hellbent on vengeance following the villain’s actions against her husband, Tracy manages to obtain John’s ashes with plans to dispose of them down the loo. But will she succeed in carrying out her revenge?
