Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh feeling ‘very lucky’ after adorable surprise ahead of baby’s birth

Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has said she’s feeling ‘very lucky’ as she was given a surprise by her loved ones ahead of the arrival of her second child.

The actress, who is best known for playing Tracy Robinson in the ITV soap, announced that she and her husband, actor Toby Alexander-Smith were expecting baby number two last year, which comes after they welcomed their daughter, Bonnie, into the world in 2021.

At the time of the announcement, Amy posted a black and white video set to Nick Drake’s ‘Northern Sky’. In the clip, she could be heard telling Bonnie: “Mummy and daddy have got a special secret to tell you.”

She went on to say: “Mummy has got a baby in her tummy. A baby sister or brother for you,” as the video showed Amy, Toby, and Bonnie’s hands move to show a scan picture of the baby. Amy then captioned the post: “Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026.”

It was then on Boxing Day, Amy took to her Instagram again to mark the last Christmas before her second baby will be born and revealed she and Toby, who is best known for his role as Gray Atkins in BBC soap EastEnders from 2019 to 2022, were expecting another baby girl.

Earlier this month, Amy took to Instagram to reveal that she was about to begin her final day of filming for Emmerdale in Leeds before her maternity leave. Alongside a photo of the entrance to the ITV studios, the actress wrote: “Last day! Let’s do this.”

And as she awaits the arrival of her second bundle of joy, the soap star revealed that she was surprised by some of her family and friends with an unexpected baby shower.

Sharing a string of pictures from the event, which featured sweet party favours and cards to fill in and games to play, Amy wrote on Instagram: “When you think you’re meeting your cousins, their girls and your auntie for lunch and they surprise you with a mini baby shower and the best surprise of all (see slide 5)!!!!!!!!

“My mum came all the way up from London! Thanks @sancarlorestaurants for capturing this gorgeous moment on camera and for the loveliest lunch!” The mum-of-two-to-be added: “I feel very lucky right now.”

Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton was among those to comment on the post, as she said: “Aw that’s must’ve been so emotional [love heart eyes emoji].” Samantha Giles also posted: “Awwww I bet you miss your mum xxxx hope you had a lovely lunch.” Former co-star Natalie Ann Jamieson commented: “Awwwww [love heart eyes emoji],” while Paula Lane added: “Gorgeous [love heart emoji].”
