Y&R Wednesday Recap: Nick Plans to Put Matt Clark ‘In the Ground’, and Cane Plays Hardball With Phyllis

On the Cane train, Ashby leaves a message for Amanda to call him, and then flashes back to Victor telling him to fix this or he’ll never see his family again. On cue, Devon walks in and asks where Lily and the twins are.

Devon tears into Cane, who insists they’re fine but repeatedly refuses to tell him more. Ashby finally erupts, saying he’s spending every minute of every day trying to find them. He would never, ever let anything happen to them.

Devon Cane Y&R

Devon fumes that Ashby is telling him nothing. Will he handle this like he did with Chance and Dominic?! He demands Cane tell him who’s behind his, Ashby warns if he does, they may never see them again. Devon, in turn, warns if anything happens to Lily and the twins, he will rain hell down on Cane.

Nick Rants and Raves

At the ranch, Nick rants about Matt Clark going free. Victor warns that he’s disappeared since being released. He doesn’t think he’d show his face in Genoa City. Nick’s rage blossoms. He’s heard all of this before! Knocking a chair over, he screams that no one he cares about is safe. “Why?!”

Victor calls security (not for Nick) as his son spouts off about this being the last thing Sharon needs given what’s going on with Mariah. Victor raises an eyebrow as Nick agonizes over his leg whilst chewing him out for not letting him “take care of Matt” previously.

Nick keeps ranting and gritting his teeth for emphasis, “This is gonna end, and it’s going to be me who does it!” Nikki’s jaw drops as she comes downstairs to Nick storming out. She and Victor fret about their son. He promises to take care of Clark before anyone else can get to him.

Sharon’s Shrinkage

At Crimson Lights, Sharon asks Phyllis if stealing Newman was worth alienating everyone, including her son. The redhead is thrilled to have stuck it to Victor and is sure Nick and her kids will get over it. If Daniel can forgive Sharon for framing him for Heather’s death, he’ll forgive her too. Disgusted by the comparison, Sharon shouts that Red should be ashamed.

Phyllis Sharon Y&R

After a time out, they pick things up with Phyllis accusing Sharon of piling on. Sharon insists she’s just a concerned friend, and reminds her of the bond they forged whilst locked up. She brings up the rage she felt toward Matt Clark and guesses Phyllis felt the same about the Newmans.

Red looks amused as Sharon croons that she can help her right this wrong. Phyllis, accurately, accuses Sharon of trying to get in her head, and it’s actually working… until Snarly Nick interrupts and starts in on Phyllis, who then accuses them of tag-teaming her.

Nick fumes that the Summers Conglomerate (because we love musical company names on this soap) will not survive. They’ll crush her. Phyllis smirks that she won’t relinquish Newman Enterprises and trots out.

Sharon tells Nick she was getting through to Phyllis when he wrecked it. Nick rants at her too. Sharon worries about his pain. Nick has bigger things to worry about. “Matt Clark is back.”

Surprises Galore

At the outdoor café, Noah’s stunned when Sienna appears and kisses him. She’s moving to Genoa City to be with him, but foreshadows trouble when she asks if he’s sure his parents will be OK with this. Noah explains they’re focused on the drama surrounding Newman Enterprises.

Hooking Up

On the Cane train, he’s on the phone telling Amanda to keep working on the plan he laid out for her, when Phyllis arrives, smirking, “You wanted to see me?” She got his messages about wanting to hook up personally. He insists he admires her for pulling this off. Grinning, they size each other up.

Phyllis Cane Y&R

Noting that she saw Devon leaving, Phyllis guesses that Victor hasn’t released Lily. She’s sure Cane’s lying to her to try and get her into bed to turn the tables on her. Dropping the façade, Cane tells her she’s the only one who can turn this around for him.

The Final Scenes

At Crimson Lights, Nick’s goin’ caveman as he tells Sharon that Matt always games the system. “I cannot allow anyone else to take care of this!” She asks what he’ll do. Nick’s going to put his ass in the ground. Sharon asks how he’ll find Clark. Nick doesn’t want her to worry her head about that. In the past, they were the target… this time, he is.

Sharon Nick Y&R

At the ranch, Nikki tells Victor that Victoria’s hoping to convince Summer to side with them against Phyllis. He doesn’t like this idea given it could interfere with his plan. What he has planned with Cane will work out. Nikki wants more details, but he merely grunts that she’ll soon find out.

At the outdoor café, a panicked Sienna tells Noah that Matt’s been released. “He’s not done with us!”

On the Cane train, Phyllis refuses to help him save his family from their kidnapping “vacation.” His oversized security guard stops her from leaving. She asks Cane what he expects to gain from this. Ashby intones, “I expect you to give me what I want.”
