Arthur snaps in Emmerdale and finally confesses to his attack on Laurel
What on Earth has happened to Emmerdale’s Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke)? From Emmerdale golden boy to violent thug over a matter of a bag of stolen cash.
Not sure ‘moody teenager’ can cover this one.
Something snapped in the youngster after finding Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) backpack of money and drugs. Arthur suddenly started imagining himself living the highlife and couldn’t resist going on a spending spree.
His mum found out and that’s when things began to unravel.
When she later revealed she’d given his money away (to April and her family, the ones who actually deserved it, to be fair), Arthur lost it.
Things only got worse when he learned that she’d visited Ray’s body in the chapel of rest. As their relationship disintegrated further, he turned on his mum and shoved her so hard, she fell on the stairs and cracked her head.

Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) woke up from the ‘accident’ with amnesia with no idea what had happened. Arthur sweated that she might remember, but Laurel had never truly forgotten, she was lying to protect her son.
Laurel later confessed she knew exactly what kind of person he’d become, and the guilt was written all over his face. His behaviour made him not much better than Ray. Laurel made Arthur leave her house, no longer feeling safe around her own son, forcing him to crawl to Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) for a roof over his head.
The guilt is burning within Arthur and he’s about to crack. Not before his mum though, who confesses to bestie Nicola King (Nichola Wheeler) what really happened and how evil her son has become.

Arthur makes killer Angel look like, well, an angel.
Arthur has also had enough of keeping his own secret.
In a funk, he refuses Jai’s outstretched palm of an offer of a job at the depot and when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) asks him about Laurel, he cracks and confesses his shameful behaviour.
Will Gabby reject him too?
