Dr Todd has proven herself to be quite difficult already

Emmerdale viewers have figured out who will help Jacob Gallagher as he’s stuck with a “bully” of a boss at his workplace.

Actor Joe made his debut in the ITV soap as Jacob Gallagher back in 2010, and during his 15 year stint he’s had his fair share of major storylines in Emmerdale.

He found out he was adopted and that his biological mother was Leyla Harding. She had an affair with her brother-in-law Justin Gallagher which led to Jacob being conceived. However, Leyla gave Jacob to Alicia and Justin to raise as Alicia was infertile.

Jacob also lost his mum Leyla this year as she tragically died in the aftermath of the Valentine’s limo crash alongside her Take A Vow colleague Suzy Merton and Amy Wyatt.

After a rocky start, Jacob started a relationship with Sarah Sugden and the pair recently became married. Excited for their future, they agreed to starting a family but with Sarah unable to fall pregnant, Charity Dingle offered to be surrogate.

As viewers will know, however, Charity isn’t pregnant with Sarah and Jacob’s baby, but her own after a one night stand with her ex Ross Barton

With the truth yet to explode, Jacob and Sarah have been struggling to see eye to eye after he learned that she’d been stealing cars to help get some extra cash – little does he know she’s been doing it to help Cain Dingle who was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

For Jacob, things at work are also set to get even more difficult, after he opened up to Pollard about his struggles with his tricky boss Dr. Todd. He was mortified to realise Todd was standing right behind him, and was then forced to make an excruciating apology.

Todd revealed she’s picked him for her mentorship programme; Jacob forced a weak smile, but is secretly dreading the prospect. In upcoming episodes, it’s set to be a workplace bullying twist for poor Jacob and viewers have been trying to work out who could “save” him.

With Manpreet Sharma letting Jacob know that she used to be a mentor under Dr. Todd, some viewers are convinced that Manpreet will be the one to step in.

On a Reddit thread, u/PreparationOdd967 suggested: “Do we think she might be the one to discover the bullying from Dr Todd? The writers have already made a point of connecting the characters. Manpreet has been due a storyline of her own for ages, so it’s nice to see her potentially involved in this one.

“They’ve already tied a connection to the characters with Manpreet knowing Caitlin from before and I really hope Manpreet is the one to discover the bullying and help Jacob. Rebecca is a fantastic actress and Manpreet really shined during the Meena storyline and she’s always a great character to involve in a story imo.”
