Coronation Street issues update on missing Audrey Roberts after months
Coronation Street recently issued an update on the whereabouts of an absolute icon.
Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) has been a staple on the cobbles since 1979, but she hasn’t been seen on screen in the last three months.
‘Where’s Audrey….She’s supposed to live there with them. Is she dead in her room and no one has noticed,’ one fan questioned on Twitter/X, while another said: ‘Where is Audrey?’
Like many of our favourite soap characters, Audrey has faced her fair share of love and loss over the years. Since the death of her beloved husband Alf Roberts in 1999, Audrey has had several love interests, including butcher Fred Elliot, undertaker Archie Shuttleworth and con-man Lewis Archer.
Shortly after Lewis’ death in 2018, Audrey was horrified to learn that grandsons Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) had stolen a large sum of money from her.
More recently, she has waved off daughter Gail, who left Weatherfield in 2024 for a new life in France, and almost lost the family home after Max Turner (Paddy Bever) set it alight as part of an insurance scam.
Last week, we were thankfully given an update on her current whereabouts by Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) during a phone call with mum Gail (Helen Worth).

During a discussion about Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) lost wedding ring, Sarah warned her mum not to let Audrey know, so as not to ruin her holiday.
So, it would seem that Audrey is having a relaxing time enjoying the winter sun somewhere. It’s the least she deserves, after some of the dramas she’s been through during her time living on Coronation Street!
The drama is once again hotting up for the rest of the Platt family while Audrey enjoys her time away.

Shona and David recently welcomed new baby Harper, though it hasn’t been without complications. When Shona was pregnant, a scan revealed that Harper had a mass on her neck.
The family have also been faced with the sudden arrival of Shona’s estranged half-sister Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), who has gone out of her way to meddle in as many of their neighbours’ lives as possible.
It is clear that Jodie has a vendetta against Shona, though exactly how far she will be tempted to go to get back at her remains to be seen.
Could she be set to target the whole Platt family as part of her scheme? Could Audrey also fall victim to the mysterious Jodie?
