Emmerdale’s Kim faces Moira in jail and the outcome may be unexpected
One might think that being imprisoned for something you didn’t do is the worst thing that can happen, but fire raining down on your life on the outside while you can do anything about it is exponentially worse. Especially when you don’t even know about it.
Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has kept Moira (Natalie J Robb) completely in the dark about just how bad things are.
She has no clue has cancer. No clue Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) will stop at nothing to get his grubby little hand son their farm. No clue Cain and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) have taken to nicking cars to pay back overdue invoices.
She doesn’t even have a scooby that Joe is the reason she’s in prison – having framed her as a people trafficker so that when bodies were discovered on her farm, the circumstantial evidence was just too strong to ignore. He’ll do anything to get that farm, and he’s close. Really close.
In Moira’s absence, Cain has had to keep the farm going while fighting Joe. But he’s also secretly battling prostate cancer and isn’t great at multitasking at the best of times, let alone when emotions and adversity are thrown in.

Having hit breaking point after multiple farming incidents and the latest health scare of peeing blood, Sarah finally convinces him to come clean.
He heads off to see Moira and confesses the whole sorry truth. She’s shocked and appalled that he’s fought this uphill struggle alone, but Moira immediately puts her practical hat on and tells him his health is more important than the farm.
Meanwhile, Kim Tate (Claire King) is less than impressed with Joe’s antics to secure the farm. Even Kim has her limits, and as actress Natalie J Robb explains, Kim could be key in putting a stop to Joe.
‘She [Kim] doesn’t like Joe’s tactics and the fact he’s getting caught out a lot of the time,’ Natalie says. ‘But the thing he does every time is bring her down with him, and that’s not how she operates. Yes, you don’t cross her, but she doesn’t go out of her way to be vengeful.’
Moira summons Kim to visit her in prison, and having decided that Cain needs to put his health first, could she be about to make a deal on Butlers?

Natalie teases: ‘What comes out of that meeting will depend a lot on what happens with the future of the Dingles and the future of the farm and the family.’
So, Moira’s farming days could soon be behind her.
Kim arrives in prison to meet with Moira herself, unclear on why she’s there but with no doubt it will all soon make sense.
Asked if Moira would give up the farm, Natalie said it’s a ‘very high possibility’ but that she recognises that ‘the pressure needs to be taken off [Cain]’.
Will Moira sign a deal with the devil and give Joe what he wants?
