Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) gave Emmerdale viewers quite a scare after last night’s dramatic turn of events seemingly climaxed in the character’s shock exit from the show.

After confessing to the murder of drug-dealing people trafficker Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) to save his friend Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) from being charged for the crime, the troubled teen decided to run from the law and fled into the night.

During a call to his girlfriend April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), Dylan admitted to posting a letter to the police falsely claiming that he killed Ray, so Bear and his son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) wouldn’t get in trouble.

Horrified, April begged Dylan not to leave and promised they could figure out their next move together. But a heartbroken Dylan was resigned to his fate ‘I think it’s past that point, don’t you?’ He lamented. ‘I love you, all right? Always. I’m sorry’
