LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME: The Game-Changing Ben and Steve Revelation That Just Ripped Through Weatherfield!

Maggie Driscoll’s big secret is finally out. The matriarch of the Driscoll family has been keeping secrets since she arrived on Coronation Street (including about her husband’s death) and last month viewers found out that Maggie had history with Jim McDonald.

Jim’s son Steve has become close with Ben Driscoll in recent weeks and the pair bonded further after Jim’s death. But, following Jim’s funeral, Maggie was confronted by Declan, one of Jim’s friends in the Rover’s backyard.

Declan recognised Maggie as the woman Jim had an affair with decades ago and, although Maggie tried to protest her innocence, Declan promised to keep her secret.

Since then Maggie has continued to act strangely around Steve and his family, including trying to keep her grandson Ollie from dating Steve’s daughter Amy Barlow.

Then, on Friday’s episode, during a heated conversation with Ben, Maggie accused him of favouring his father Alan over her, his own “flesh and blood”.

This led Ben to question what his mum meant by referring to herself as his “flesh and blood” and not his dad.

On Sunday’s episode (5 April) Ben was still questioning Maggie about what she’d said but she kept telling him it didn’t mean anything.

When Ben took a dizzy spell, Maggie brought him to The Rovers’ back room where he threatened to phone Finn and ask him if he if knew anything.

The threat caused Maggie to finally admit that Alan wasn’t Ben’s “real dad”. Maggie told her son that she’d had a fling with a British soldier she’d met at a club but didn’t remember his name.

The revelation caused Ben to started drinking and when he went out to the pub Steve was there, with Ben inviting him to join him and Maggie for a drink.

But when Steve mentioned Amy was alone with Ollie and their romance appeared to be back on, Maggie panicked and stormed round to Steve’s house.

As Amy and Ollie were making out on the sofa, Maggie banged on the door with Ben and Steve following her.

When Amy let her in, she told them they couldn’t be together because they were cousins. She then admitted that the man she’d had an affair with from Belfast was Jim McDonald.

Steve didn’t believe her and Ben was furious that she’d let him go to his own dad’s funeral without knowing it.

Maggie admitted that she’d known Steve was her ex-lover’s son ever since she’d found a photo of Jim in his home at Halloween.

After Amy stormed out, Steve ordered Maggie, Ben, and Ollie to leave. Home alone, Steve ripped up his father’s memorial card.

Will Maggie be able to keep her family together now her big secret is out?
