At the Club, Sally and Billy run into Phyllis and Cane. Billy remarks on them being so “cozy” and assumes they’re plotting. Phyllis can’t stop herself from mocking him. “What are you two cooking up?” Billy asks as Sally tries to usher him away.

Phyllis snaps at Billy when he takes a stab at Cane’s conman past and accuses him of jealousy. She says Cane has built more than he ever will, while Billy has wasted all he’s been given.

As Cane hands her her coat, Phyllis rails about the disrespect Billy has shown her. Billy respects them both enough to warn them against working with each other. She brags that he’ll soon know what they have been working on, and storms out with Ashby behind her.

Sally asks Billy what’s up with him. He admits he overheard Cane and Phyllis planning to go after Newman. Sally questions if he’s upset that Phyllis and Cane will be the ones to beat Victor and not him. He claims he doesn’t care.

Victor Baffles Jack and Kyle

At the Newman ranch, Jack repeats his offer to hand over Matt in exchange for the AI. Before Victor can agree, he receives a text and abruptly leaves. Matt jokes that this has been a wasted trip. Taking Nikki aside, a bewildered Jack asks why her husband isn’t leaping on his offer. What could be more important? She has no idea.

Meanwhile, Matt tries and fails to cut a deal with the Abbotts. They all scowl at him as he complains about the zip-ties are giving him an itch. Nikki gets in his face, declaring he should have been in the ground for the past twenty years.

Matt starts making digs about Jack’s past with Nikki, adding that Diane is a “smokeshow”. He mocks Jack for overplaying his hand and the others for having “no juice.” As he demands a snack, Kyle orders security to take him outside and gag him.

Jack and Kyle try talking Adam into getting his father to back off his attack plans. Adam can’t see the point since they’ve already ruined Jabot. When Kyle accuses him of setting a bad example to his son, Adam threatens to smack him.

Jack tells Nikki he’ll have no choice but to let Matt go if Victor won’t accept his deal. If Clark walks free, it’s on Victor’s head.

Victor returns and announces that Jack can keep Matt for now. He has more important things to deal with. Baffled, Jack and Kyle warn that he only has until morning. Once they leave, Victor orders the Abbotts to be followed.

Billy Updates Jack

Jack and Kyle return to the Abbott manse, still baffled by Victor’s behavior. Jack calls IT to confirm they haven’t been attacked. They then get to wondering why Victor is so rattled. Jack has no intention of actually allowing Matt Clark go free, but he needs the Newmans to think he will.

Billy calls and tells Jack that Cane and Phyllis are working together to take down Newman Enterprises. Jack assumes this is what had Victor so rattled. Billy admits he wishes he were the one to take down Victor.

Cane Tells Phyllis It’s Done

Phyllis and Cane grab coffee at Crimson Lights as she brags about how they will win; they’re on the edge of taking over Newman. He warns they make enemies and everything will change. She remains eager to take away Victor’s “life force.”

Phyllis is surprised by how cool and calm Cane is staying. He points out he has nothing left to lose. Whispering, she asks if he’s ready to pull the trigger. “It’s done,” he tells her. He did it from his phone back at the Club. Newman is being destroyed right now. Phyllis kisses him and suggests they get on the train.

Phyllis Revels In Winning

On the train, Cane and Phyllis undress as she declares this is the best night ever. She thinks they’re unstoppable. Between kisses, she jokes about all the ways they can rename Newman.

After sex, Phyllis declares that the universe has changed: the underdogs are coming out on top and they’ve put Victor to shame. Cane promises she will get what she desires. He explains that he’s cut her in because she helped make this happen.

Dumas never hesitated. He was a name for the part of Cane that gets what he wants. Phyllis helped him make sense of things with her genius. Phyllis thanks him for noticing she’s a genius. After all those years of being mocked, she’s finally winning.

Victor Breaks Bad News

Victoria arrives at the Newman ranch and joins the rest of the family. She’s expecting news about Matt, but her father announces that they are under attack. The AI has been turned against its host. Newman Enterprises is being gutted from the inside as they speak.
