Chicago Fire Season 14 EXPLOSION đđ„ Violetâs Heart Left in Ashes After Carverâs Devastating Exit â Now Sheâs Ditching Love, Breaking Rules, and Igniting a Bold New Era at Firehouse 51 đ±đ
Violet has experienced several romantic heartbreaks on Chicago Fire, and while season 14 will start with a breakup it wonât be all doom and gloom for the paramedic.
âViolet has had some tortured relationships in the past and is coming off some serious heartbreak,â showrunner Andrea Newman exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, September 25, referring to Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Carverâs (Jake Lockett) short-lived romance.

Newman noted that Violet is ânot looking to get into any heavy, serious relationshipsâ to start the new season, which premieres on Wednesday, October 1.
Violet is coming off a whirlwind season 13 finale in which she finally told firefighter Carver how she felt about him before he revealed he took a job in Denver. Despite having no future together, Carver ended the May episode by kissing Violet and admitting that he had also fallen in love.
Despite the sweet kiss, fans wonât be getting a happily ever after for Violet and Carver â at least, not for the foreseeable future.
Lockett, 40, previously confirmed in April that he would not be returning for season 14, but teased that he didnât know âwhat the future looks like,â giving fans hope at an eventual comeback.
Newman, meanwhile, told Us on Thursday that Violet will have some âfun timesâ this season as a single lady.

âItâs time to go out and just have a blast and not get caught up in anything that could lead to heartbreak,â the showrunner said. âFun is on the lineup. [Itâs] on the docket for Violet, for sure, and fun is always on the docket for [her paramedic partner] Novak. Thatâs her middle name.â
Newman teased that Lyla Novakâs (Jocelyn Hudon) rowdy ways might rub off on Violet now that they are both free from relationships.
âI see a lot of going out and having a good time, and that friendship bonding and blossoming as that happens, and getting even deeper,â Newman added.
Christian Stolte, who plays Randall âMouchâ McHolland, said that he âreallyâ likes Violet and Novakâs âdynamicâ this season.
âThey also both have a sort of rapid-fire energy with dialogue that maybe sometimes like, âOK, slow it down,ââ he said with a laugh during his and Newmanâs joint interview.

Newman couldnât agree more, hinting that the paramedic duo will continue to steal the spotlight this season from time to time.
âTheyâre so different. Violet is very much the sort of rational based science person. Sheâs not a big, like, âLetâs hug it out,ââ Newman told Us. âAnd Novak is so empathetic with patients, and so she connects so well. They have a very nice balance. Theyâre a great team together.â
Stolte, 62, revealed that âevery new character is a wild card coming into [Firehouse 51] and Novak has retained a little bit of that.â He noted that viewers will continue to learn more about her this season.
âWe donât know Novak all that well,â Newman confirmed. âSo this season, weâll get to turn some cards on her and learn a little bit more about her.â
