Fans of Coronation Street have been left speechless after learning Ryan Prescott’s real age.

The Southport-born actor is best known for his role as Ryan Connor on the hit soap. He previously played the role of Flynn Buchanan in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale in 2011, as well as Liam Slade in the BBC medical soap opera Doctors.

The character of Ryan first appeared in Weatherfield back in 2006, where he was initially played by actor Ben Thompson. He was then reintroduced in 2012, with Sol Heras taking on the role, before Ryan Prescott arrived in 2018.

Ryan has been involved in several memorable storylines over the years, including when he discovered that Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) wasn’t his biological mother, as well as his relationships with Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson), Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote), and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

The character has also been embroiled in feuds with his brother Ali Neeson (James Burrows), found himself in debt to drug lord Ronan Truman (Alan McKenna), and was also the unintentional victim of an acid attack at the hands of Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still).

Ryan currently lives at number six Coronation Street with his aunt, Carla (Alison King), her fiancée Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), and Lisa’s teenage daughter, Betsy (Sydney Martin).

It’s been a turbulent few months for the family, after Lisa’s ex-wife, Becky (Amy Cudden), returned from the dead and made it her mission to get Carla out of the picture. Not long after Becky’s arrest, Ryan was promoted at the Chariot Square Hotel after Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) framed his mum, Debbie (Sue Devaney), for drink driving.

Ryan noticed that Carl had been stealing money from the hotel, with Debbie’s husband, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), soon firing the villain. However, Debbie has since urged her reluctant spouse to support her son while she carries out her prison sentence.

Now, some fans have been left speechless after learning the real age of actor Ryan. Ryan was born on the 14th of January 1992, making him 34 years old.

Meanwhile, actor Ryan was born on the 21st of January 1989, meaning he has recently turned 37.

Reacting to Ryan’s real age, one surprised Corrie fan wrote on TikTok: “Ryan’s shocked me. I thought he was about my age, 31, in real life.” Another added: “I can’t believe Ryan is 37 in real life?!” while a third said: “God, they all age perfectly. The [cast] look so good at any age.”

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Why does it always seem to be that the actor is older than the character and not the other way round?”
