Coronation Street fans issue same demand as former star speaks out year after exit

Coronation Street fans have been seen issuing the same demand as a former cast member was seen speaking out a year after his on-screen exit.

Luca Toolan took to TikTok with a new video in which he referenced it being a year since his character, Mason Radcliffe, was tragically killed in a shocking knife crime storyline.

Mason was first seen at the centre of a high school bullying storyline in the ITV soap in 2024, making the life of poor Liam Connor hell. Roping his friend Dylan Wilson into his cruel taunting, Liam was left contemplating taking his own life in heartbreaking scenes.

Mason was eventually charged with threatening with a bladed article in a public space, after setting up Dylan with the knife that was used to threaten a horrified Liam.

After his initial release from Young Offenders, Mason returned to Weatherfield and was quickly taken under the wing of Stu Carpenter, despite opposition from Sean Tully and Maria and Gary Windass.

But as he tried to turn his life around, he struggled to escape his brothers – Matty and Logan – and eventually, the troubled teen was killed by his siblings in a shocking attack, just before he planned to join Stu for a new life in Germany.

Late last year, Luca revealed he’s been busy auditioning for new roles and hinted at a return to our screens in a matter of months. Speaking to The Sun, Luca said: “I just finished a short film, I’m loving life. This short film was a dream come true, it was a medieval short film… they built a whole set, they built me a sword from scratch. It sounds really nerdy but for me it was so fun.”

Now, the actor has shared a video on TikTok in which he spoke about what he has been doing with his time since leaving the cobbles. Speaking to the camera, Luca said: “One year ago, this happened…” before sharing a behind-the-scenes clip of filming his final scenes.

“To be very honest with you, I was lying in bed last night and I was just like, what the hell have I been doing with my life this past year? I’ve played it safe, neglected acting to go and focus on making money and it’s just made me feel so sad.”

Luca went on to speak about the ‘opportunities that have slipped through his fingers’ and how he’s ‘had to do something about it’. He said he would take his followers on acting journey, as he prepares to make his own film. Alongside the post, he wrote: “You’re coming with me on my acting journey. #actor #corrie #film #tv.”

And fans were quick to respond, with many calling for his Corrie return. One said: “Can u come back to life or something pls.” Another commented: “Can Mason be resurrected please.” A third posted: “Only if mason came back instead of Becky.”

A fan also shared: “I kept betting my husband u were in witness protection still hoping to see u in Corrie. I hope everything goes well 4 u and ur new projects.” A fifth added: “They should bring you back as masons long lost brother.”
