Coronation Street resolves pregnancy mystery as David discovers the truth

Coronation Street resolved the pregnancy mystery in the Platt household as David Platt discovered the truth.

Monday’s (8 September) episode began with David attempting to get his daughter Lily into school after she complained of an upset stomach. Despite expressing scepticism over her story, he later felt guilt as Audrey Roberts shared that she heard Lily throwing up in the morning.

He quickly had to head to the school anyway, however, as Lily was involved in a fight with a fellow pupil. She managed to avoid a suspension, though David still wasn’t best pleased with her.

As David’s mood worsened after going through Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s recycling, he discovered a pregnancy test in his own bin, and immediately assumed that Betsy Swain was the one who had used it, as the neighbours had been using his bin.

He shared his theories with Sarah Platt, who suggested that Lily may have been the one to use the test, given the story that had been told by Audrey. Realising that he may have made a mistake, David was horrified.

He began rooting through her stuff as he searched for answers, and Sarah attempted to calm him down. As Lily came downstairs, David bluntly asked her the question, though she said the test wasn’t hers.

Sarah promptly headed to the café and told Shona Platt that David was questioning Lily over the test. Shona returned home and chastised David over his actions before revealing that she was the one who had taken the test…

While David and Shona dealt with their own drama, Lisa got a huge shock at the end of episode as Becky, the wife she thought to be long-deceased, unexpectedly arrived at her house.

With the police officer unsurprisingly stunned by the return of Becky, what does this revelation do to her relationship with Carla? And how will Betsy react to her mother being alive after all?
