Abi’s realisation follows Kevin’s recent words of warning that Carl can’t be trusted, although the slippery character quickly tries his best to talk her back round.

Speaking to us at a Corrie press event last week, show producer Kate Brooks pointed out that Abi still doesn’t know about Carl’s recent fling with James Bailey.

This will be one of the storylines playing out on the cobbles during the Christmas period this year, as fans continue to wonder how long Carl can keep his secrets under wraps.

Brooks said: “You’ve got Tyrone and Fiz, and the Abi/Carl/James story is all still going on. Abi hasn’t got a scooby that that’s happening!

“Also, Tyrone still doesn’t know the truth about Carl and the car. So there are things which are bubbling – and ready to kick off…”
