Coronation Street Toyah Battersby star claps back at troll over new tattoo reveal

Coronation Street’s Georgia Taylor didn’t hesitate to clap back at an online troll who ridiculed her beautiful new tattoo.

The actress, known for her role as Toyah Battersby on the ITV soap, first appeared on the cobbles in 1997, alongside the rest of the Battersby family including sister Leanne (Jane Danson).

Over the years, Toyah has been involved in numerous major storylines; from her shocking rape on the street to the heartbreaking death of husband Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo), her stint in Weatherfield has been anything but drama-free.

Particularly in the last year, as she not only fought ovarian cancer, but also embarked on a secret affair with Leanne’s partner Nick Tilsey (Ben Price). The truth eventually surfaced and, as expected, Leanne was furious.

However, the two have since made amends following the return of Leanne’s sister Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) last month, reports the Daily Star. Off-screen, Georgia is well-known for keeping her 104k Instagram followers in the loop about her daily life. This week, the soap star thrilled fans by revealing her new tattoo.

On her Instagram, Georgia posted several pictures from her visit to the tattoo artist, including a close-up shot of her gorgeous new floral-inspired body art.

In the caption, she wrote: “First visit to the newly established @tiger_heron_tattoo today. Sarah @big.bird.tattoo and Paul @stretch.armstrong.tattoo have created the most gorgeously chilled, safe and inclusive space. It’s an absolute joy hanging out with you both. Sarah, thank you for decorating my body so beautifully, as always.”

Toyah’s supporters were swift to flood the comments section with compliments about her fresh ink. Yet one critic questioned: “Please tell me that’s not real.” Georgia didn’t let the remark slide unnoticed.

She hit back: “Of course it’s real.” Additionally, another online troll seemed to post an offensive comment which has apparently been removed since.

Responding to a social media user, Georgia boldly declared: “What a f****** weird thing to say. Maybe I’m having a midlife awakening.”

Nevertheless, countless other admirers were absolutely smitten with her latest body art. One person raved: “It’s beautiful just like you.” Another wrote: “Absolutely beautiful darling.” A third added: “I’m having serious tattoo envy right now. I need to get mine booked in. That’s lovely.”
