Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan says ‘please’ as he ‘can’t believe’ what happened to him

Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan has reflected on his National Television Award (NTA) success from 2021. The actor plays the role of Sam Blakeman on the ITV soap and and found fame as Tyler Croft in the hit Sky TV show Brassic.
The rising star has been on our screens for nearly five years, after joining Coronation Street in late 2020. Jude has earned acclaim for his incredible performances through difficult storylines after his onscreen mum, Natasha Blakeman, was killed by the show villain Harvey Gaskell.
The talented star received award recognition when he picked up the best newcomer prize at the NTAs in 2021. Last night, September 3, Jude posted a picture of his newly received Guinness World Record.
The message on the certificate read: “The youngest winner at the National Television Awards is Jude Riordan (UK, b. 11 May 2011) who was 10 years old and 121 days old when he won Best Newcomer at the 26th National Television Awards (NTAs) in London, UK, on 9 September 2021.”
Sharing the special moment on Instagram, Jude said: “Memories that I’ll still talk about when I’m a great grandad. Can you believe this even happened? @officialntas @joeldommett

The Sam Blakeman star’s rise to fame began in 2017 when he appeared on the Channel 4 documentary, The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds. He will be in attendance when the National Television Awards get underway on Wednesday, September 10.
A number of Coronation Street stars are up for awards. Sue Devaney has been nominated for Best Serial Drama Performance. Her character Debbie Webster is involved in a dementia storyline. Jack P Shepherd is also up for best Serial Drama Performance for playing the role of David Platt.
Coronation Street is up against Casualty, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks for the award of serial drama. The event will take place at the O2 Arena and air on ITV at 8pm on September 10.
Jude proudly hails from St Helens and it’s no surprise that he is such a talented actor as his dad is a successful director. Paul Riordan broke through in a behind the scenes role in Hollyoaks before he went on to earn directing credits for popular soaps such as Emmerdale and Casualty.
