Coronation Street’s new Rovers feud to spark shocking health crisis

Coronation Street’s ongoing war between Eva Price and Maggie Driscoll pushes Ben over the edge next week – and the tension at home causes him to have serious heart problems. As Maggie considers selling her share in The Rovers, animosity reaches breaking point and Ben struggles to cope with the stress.

In the aftermath, will the beloved women in his life agree to a truce to save his health? Or are they only just getting started with their bickering?

“Ben’s dream of a harmonious family seems far away,” our Corrie spy warns. “After the events at Christmas, the antagonism between Maggie and Eva still rumbles on. Ben’s caught in the middle, but absorbing that stress is making him seriously ill.”

Despite Maggie’s promise of a fresh start, a surprise business proposal sparks a new feud between her and Eva. When Leanne Battersby calls round and hints that she’d like to buy Maggie out of the pub, Eva feigns shock even though she’d secretly suggested the idea. But Eva’s hammy performance convinces Maggie they’ve been plotting behind her back to get rid of her.

Reigniting their hostilities, Eva and Maggie trade insults, bickering over Maggie’s share in the pub. Trapped in the middle and unable to cope, Ben heads off to deal with the beer delivery – but suddenly he clutches his chest in pain.

“These heart palpitations could be really serious,” our source continues. “Ben quickly becomes pale and sweaty with the pain. It’s obvious what’s triggered his suffering, but will his family listen?”

The division between the Driscoll family doesn’t cease, and when Ben arrives home, Maggie has taken a fall, accidentally caused by Leanne. This incident sparks rage in Maggie, but Ben’s sickly disposition quickly attracts attention…

When Eva notices her partner is white as a sheet, she forces him to admit he’s been hiding a secret. Ben reveals he’s been suffering heart palpitations and Eva immediately calls an ambulance to his rescue.

After advice from the doctors, Ben is warned to take it easy and reduce his stress. But Maggie and Eva fail to get the memo and continue to scrap over breakfast the next day. When Ben despairs at their thoughtless and childish spats, Maggie and Eva are left shamefaced.

Will the warring women manage to put their differences aside and keep their disputes at bay for the sake of Ben’s health? Or will Ben find himself continuing to play referee, putting himself in grave danger?
