Coronation Street’s Sydney Martin has been declared love by one of her co-stars as they shared a gushing tribute online, in which they declared she is ‘enough’.

Those who follow the ITV soap best know the actress for Betsy Swain, having made her TV debut in the role of long-running character DS Lisa Swain’s daughter last year.

Away from the cobbles, Sydney has become close friends with fellow Corrie star Cait Fitton, made her debut in the role of troubled Lauren Bolton back in late 2022 alongside her evil dad, Reece Bolton, who was a member of Griff Reynolds’ far-right gang.

And on Saturday (October 18), as Sydney celebrated her 24th birthday, Cait was quick to take to social media to gush over her friend as she marked her special day.

Sharing a string of pictures of the pair to her Instagram page, the soap star said: “Happy birthday to the most incredible person I know. Sydney, it’s hard to put into words how much you mean to me and how much I adore our friendship. You are the most kindest person I have ever met, and I am so proud to call you my best friend.

“Today is the day to celebrate you, and thank you for all that you do. First of all, thank you for lighting up any room you walk into, not just with your smile but with the warmth and love you radiate.

“Thank you for making everyone you surround yourself with feel special, including me, and for always being there in ways I can’t explain. Thank you for accepting me for me but most of all thank you for being my sidekick, my sista from another mista, my platonic soulmate, but most of all my best friend.

“I know sometimes you can be so hard on yourself, but please know that you are doing more than enough. You are more than you give yourself credit for!

“I am so proud of you. Your strength, perseverance and compassion is what continues to inspire me every day, and being alongside you on this journey, watching you grow is such a privilege. You deserve every bit of happiness and I hope this birthday gives you that . Thank you for being the most beautiful human you are. I am so proud of you. Love you always and forever.”

During a joint interview earlier this year with Inside Soap, the pair were asked what similarities they share, to which Cait responded: “If I have a bad day, Sydney knows exactly what to do, what to say, and vice versa. Everybody has anxious days where they struggle, and that’s okay.

“When Sydney and I have a bad day, we voice it, and we’re emotionally there for each other. In so many ways, we’re just the same person. We’re literally like sisters!”

And sometimes they even get mistaken for one another. “We did look like long-lost sisters in a scene we just did,” Sydney revealed to which Cait added: “They told me I needed to change outfits because we looked too similar!”
