A CORONATION Street hunk has gone public with his new girlfriend – after meeting her on the soap.

The actor took to Instagram to confirm their relationship with a sweet selfie together along with a love heart emoji.

Kit Green actor Jacob Roberts has posted a picture cuddling up to Corrie PR Caitlin Connolly.

A source said: “They’ve been together for a while now, it’s very sweet.

“They seem besotted with each other and it’s been an open secret they’re an item for quite a while.”

The picture marks the first confirmation of the pair’s relationship.

A Coronation Street spokeswoman has been contacted for comment.

Jacob’s co-star Jack P. Shepherd also met his now wife Hanni when she worked in the Corrie press office.

Former Hollyoaks actor Jacob split from his ex-girlfriend, PR Amy Harris last year.

Before the split, the pair had frequently appeared on each other’s grids, appearing at events together and sharing pics from loved-up dinners.

However, with Amy doing the same, they signalled the end of their half-decade long romance.
