Emmerdale fans predict key character’s downturn as family plays into villain’s hands

Emmerdale fans fear for the future of a key character who might be driven into the hands of a major villain by her own family.

April Windsor has been at the heart of a drug-dealing operation in recent Emmerdale episodes. Played by Amelia Flanagan, she and Dylan Penders, portrayed by Fred Kettle, have been embroiled in the criminal world of Ray. Played by Joe Absolom, Ray has used April and Dylan to conduct a series of drug drops and involve them in his shady dealings.

To add drama to the situation, April has been kicked out of the family home by Rhona Goskirk, her stepmum. April brought some ecstasy back to the house, where Leo Goskirk accidentally ate some and ended up in hospital.

April felt forced to move out after Rhona told her she was uncomfortable with the 16-year-old staying there. Her dad, Marlon Dingle, has been caught in the middle of the argument, with some fans labelling him “soft”.

April had initially planned to stay with villain Ray but was rescued by her grandfather, Bob Hope, at the last minute. However, despite this, fans fear her family’s actions may continue to push her away and into the hands of the Emmerdale drug lord.

Jill Gillingham posted on an Emmerdale fan group on Facebook: “No!!! They are playing right into the dealers hands, getting angry is pushing her out and closer to Ray.” Pat Toulson added: “I personally think that she would have been better sitting down with her and talking to her. April has been through so much she needs help and understanding from Rhona. On the other side Marlon needs to stop being so soft and talk to her. The truth is meant to come out.”

Sheena Newman said: “She was out of order!! She wouldn’t have done that if she was her own child! Bit of respect for Marlon was necessary so they could both chat and find out why April is who she is.”

However, some other fans think Rhona is correct to kick April out. Sheila Lamb said: “Not a Rhona fan but think she was right in what she said to April. As it has been said. Marlon is no use in this situation.”
