Emmerdale’s Vinny Dingle was left saying “sorry” after his new romance was publicly revealed.

As fans of the ITV soap will know, Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) decided to give in to their feelings for each other and shared a passionate kiss on Tuesday (February 24).

Since last year, the chemistry between the two has been reaching boiling point as the housemates grew closer and seemed to share flirty moments.

On Thursday (February 26), Vinny and Lewis were the picture of happiness as they confirmed their romance in a sweet conversation with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) at The Hop, who was delighted by the news and got overexcited.

“You two, like together, as an item”, Mandy whispered in a loud tone before congratulating the happy couple.

Vinny quickly interrupted his mum’s celebration by asking her to keep her voice down, signalling his ex-wife Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) was potentially within earshot.

“It’s just nice to finally have some good news, that’s all”, Mandy added as she beamed at the happy couple. However, it appeared Gabby overheard Vinny’s announcement and looked on unimpressed.

Later in the episode, not wanting to hurt his ex-wife’s feelings, Vinny apologised to Gabby for Mandy’s overreaction, who appeared to take the news with maturity.

“It’s fine”, Gabby reassured him, “We live in the same village. Of course, we’re gonna bump into each other.”

Vinny quickly responded: “We shouldn’t have been in here in the first place”, but Gabby quickly fired back: “Vinny, look, I am happy for you and Lewis”, as she had a slight expression of sorrow on her face.

Vinny and Gabby got together in 2024 and had planned to start a new family life with her son Thomas. But they called time on their marriage in October 2025, only weeks after their wedding.

The split came after revelations of infidelity, with Gabby admitting to cheating on Vinny while in Portugal as he remained confused about his sexuality.

But it appears the former couple have now put their differences aside as he finds happiness with Lewis.

Elsewhere, Emmerdale viewers blame Mandy for being insensitive towards Gabby, but also celebrated Vinny and Lewis’ new relationship.

Taking to X, one Emmerdale fan asked: “What was Vinny thinking, telling Mandy about him & Lewis getting together at the hop, where Gabby has a front row seat to see them? #emmerdale.”

A second said: “Mandy telling Gabby she’s celebrating Lewis and Vinny forgetting that she was once married to Vinny #Emmerdale.”

A third chimed: “Mandy’s happy for Vinny and Lewis; she nearly told the whole room. #Emmerdale (laughing face)”, while another stated: “Vinny and Lewis are so cute.”

“Mandy finding out about Lewis and Vinny #Lenny Such a lovely moment #Emmerdale”, penned one viewer as another echoed the sentiment: “Loved Mandy’s reaction to finding out about Lewis and Vinny, she’s already so invested and supportive of their relationship.”
