Emmerdale favourite ‘to return’ 11 years after first episode in shock Carl twist
Emmerdale fans are predicting the return of a former resident in a shock Carl Holliday twist.
The soap is currently airing a harrowing new storyline involving Carl (Charlie Joyce) and Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison). Last week, it was revealed that Carl – whose father is soap legend Jimmy King (Nick Miles) – had possessed and distributed an indecent image of a child.
It turned out that it was a photo of Clemmie that Carl had sent around to children at school, leaving Clemmie mortified and her mum Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) furious.
As a result Carl, Jimmy and stepmum Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) were visited by the police. The cops ultimately warned the family that they would be taking things seriously – much to Nicola and Jimmy’s horror.
And in Monday’s episode (October 13) the fallout continued when Carl was questioned at the police station and admitted it was him who sent around the photo.
Due to Carl’s confession, Nicola was then told that social services could now be involved amid the ongoing investigation.
But now, with all the drama going down, fans reckon the soap could be bringing back a former resident. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers suspect Carl’s mum Juliette Holliday (Amelia Curtis) could make a comeback.
One person said: “Soooo if social services are gonna get involved with Nico and Jimmy, this could be an opportunity to bring Elliot’s mum Juliette back to the village time to test that 15 year marriage I reckon!” Another agreed: “She would cause some trouble.”
Viewers will recall Juliette made her first Emmerdale appearance in 2014, when it was revealed she had conceived Jimmy’s baby after a mix-up at the fertility clinic. Instead of being impregnated with her agreed donor’s sperm, she was accidentally impregnated with Jimmy’s.
She rocked up to the village and wanted Jimmy to sign papers to waive his rights to their then unborn child. She then gave birth to their son Carl, before giving Jimmy parental responsibility in 2016 when she left the village.
Juliette was last seen in 2021 when she returned wanting to be a part of Carl’s life again. Her comeback ruffled plenty of feathers as she caused a strain on Jimmy and Nicola’s relationship.
However, Juliette ended up moving to New York and cutting all ties with Carl again, as her new boyfriend Allister didn’t like children and she struggled with motherhood.
