Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter has revealed exciting new TV and film projects a year after his character departed the beloved ITV soap.
The 33 year old actor portrayed Nate Robinson, Cain Dingle’s secret son, who suffered a tragic fate at the hands of serial killer John Sugden in 2024.
During last week’s dramatic Corriedale special episode, Nate’s name was mentioned on the show, and the reference didn’t escape notice.
In response, Jurell shared a throwback photograph of Nate with John on Instagram, writing: “I heard Nate made an appearance this week. Only right that I put a throwback up with his killer.”
Nevertheless, Jurell reassured fans they won’t have to wait long to see him return to television, teasing what could be his biggest role to date, according to The Sun.

He continued: “Nate’s gone but I filmed on two projects in 2025 so I’ll be back on your screens this year and also maybe on your big screens in 2027.”
It seems the actor shows no signs of slowing down. Beyond acting, he’s also pursuing other interests. In a separate post, he revealed: “I’ve also launched my fitness coaching page @jcartercoaching. Go follow if you want help with your body and routine.”
The Corriedale crossover witnessed villainous John’s demise, with his sister Victoria found standing over his body in woodland.
This prompted a flashback of Nate’s murder in September to be shown to audiences, who were left stunned by the dramatic episode.

Following his unexpected departure from the popular ITV soap, Jurell opened up about his character Nate’s exit and how it has spurred him on in his career.
In a chat with Digital Spy, he revealed: “I spoke to some of my colleagues – including Eden [Taylor-Draper], who I’m close to.
“I remember saying, ‘As sad as it is…'” As I am – because I know there’s no going back – it almost gives me more reason just to go full force to the pedal outside of Emmerdale and really give it my all’.
“Once you know there’s no option for a potential return, you think to yourself, ‘Okay, it’s now or never and I need to go for it, full steam ahead, because there’s no safety blanket
