Emmerdale star shares health update after tears in urgent care weeks after daughter’s birth

Isabel Hodgins has reassured fans she is doing better after suffering a setback in her postpartum recovery

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has reassured fans she is doing better after being left in tears during an emergency visit to urgent care just weeks after the birth of her first child.

The actress, who is best known for playing Victoria Sugden in the ITV soap, gave birth back in February to her and her husband Adam Whitehead’s first child, months after they tied the knot in a fairytale wedding in Manchester last summer.

Isabel and Adam announced their daughter’s arrival in a sweet social media video in which Isabel could be seen in the hospital in labour, before a blank screen appeared, confirming their daughter’s safe arrival on February 11 and her name, Georgie Grace Whitehead.

But it was on Monday (April 6) evening that Isabel took to social media to share that the family’s Easter Monday “didn’t go to plan” as she ended up needing to get herself medically checked over.

Posting a selfie of herself snuggling her head onto her husband’s shoulder, the new mum revealed: “Today didn’t go to plan. There were tears… and a fear hours spent at urgent care getting checked over. The staff were so lovely and caring. There are some things they don’t tell you about postpartum recovery.”

The Salford-born soap star then later shared an update as she held onto what doctors had perscribed and looking brighter, she admitted: “Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and messages. The medication is definitely starting to take effect and I’m feeling much better.”

Isabel also took to her new Facebook page with a picture of her cuddling up with her baby girl and told fans: “Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and messages. They honestly meant so much. Postpartum recovery was going well… until now, but taking it one day at a time. The medication is definitely starting to take effect and I’m feeling much better.”
