Emmerdale star Shaun Thomas unrecognisable in new Hollywood role eight years after exit
Former Emmerdale star Shaun Thomas, who played Gerry Roberts from 2017 to 2018, has landed a major role in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series
Shaun Thomas, who portrayed Gerry Roberts in Emmerdale, appears dramatically different in his latest role, eight years following his shocking departure from the ITV soap.
The 28 year old actor featured in Emmerdale between 2017 and 2018. His character Gerry was brought in as the cellmate of Lachlan White, portrayed by Thomas Atkinson, whilst detained at Skipdale Young Offenders Institute.
During this period, Lachlan faced trial for attempting to murder his grandfather Lawrence White, a role taken by John Bowe.
The storyline unveiled that Gerry and Lachlan were conspiring together, manipulating Lachlan’s mother, Chrissie White, portrayed by Louise Marwood, into feeling remorseful about her son’s imprisonment, resulting in her showering them with presents.
After being released, Gerry arrived in the village seeking out Lachlan, with Chrissie permitting him to lodge temporarily at Home Farm, reports the Mirror.

Tragically, his stint in the Dales proved brief when Lachlan murdered Gerry by striking him with a brick at the B&B, desperate to keep his dark secrets hidden.
Speaking about his departure at the time, Shaun revealed the decision wasn’t his own.
“It were a shock because I was only meant to come here for two episodes in the prison scenes with Lachlan, and then I ended up staying here for a year and a half,” he told Metro.co.uk..
“So I really got used to being around everybody and making a connection with everybody.
“And then to be told that it would be coming to an end, it were pretty upsetting.”
Eight years after his shocking Emmerdale departure, Shaun appears completely transformed following his casting in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms as Ser Raymun ‘The Reluctant’ Fossoway.
The star has been making appearances at premieres and promotional events for the new HBO production, crafted by Ira Parker and George R. R. Martin as a Game of Thrones prequel.
His portfolio since departing the Dales has expanded to include Casualty, Four Lives, Ladhood, the critically-acclaimed film How to Have Sex, The Long Shadow, Rocket Fuel and The Choral.
