The Victoria Sugden star is expecting her first child with husband Adam

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins took to her Instagram as she gave a nine month update on her pregnancy after announcing the news last year.

The actress made her Emmerdale debut back in 2006 when she joined the ITV soap as Victoria Sugden. With her joining one of the original Dales families, Victoria has had a whirlwind 20 years.

Her 2025 was quite the rollercoaster as her brother Robert Sugden returned to the village after spending six years in prison for the death of Lee Posner. He arrived to stop ex-husband Aaron Dingle from marrying half-brother John Sugden who had arrived in late 2024.

However, that was just the tip of the iceberg for the Sugden family as John was soon revealed to have killed Nate Robinson. His “hero complex” made him desperate to save people, and so he’d put lives in danger just to rescue them.

Victoria apologised to Robert after John had turned her against him before his long list of harrowing crimes was exposed. Since then, the siblings attempted to move forward with their lives.

As viewers will have now seen, John did return to the village and as the soap crossed over with Coronation Street in Corriedale, the one-night spectacular was the scene of his death.

In a recent episode, it was confirmed that Victoria had killed him. A flashback scene showed John injecting her with something and planning to do the same to her son Harry so he could come back to get them once he found Aaron.

Victoria admitted that she woke up shortly after, and luckily Harry didn’t drink the chocolate milk that John had put the drug into. She arrived at the crash scene as Matty Barton informed her, and found John in the woods.

Although he battled her to the ground, she found another syringe in his pocket and stabbed him with it in the neck. He had an adverse reaction to the drug, and died in a similar fashion to Nate Robinson, whose life he took.

After her tearful confession, this could mark a brief exit for the actress who announced her pregnancy last year. The announcement came months after her “perfect” wedding to husband Adam Whitehead.

Taking to her Instagram, Isabel posted an update on being nine months pregnant. The video showed her working out before she was pregnant, and then cut to her out of breath walking up the stairs in the gym.

Underneath the video and in the caption, she quipped: “How the mighty have fallen 9 months pregnant and the stairs are my enemy”.

This comes after Isabel shared an adorable snap at Christmas of her and baby bump on the Christmas tree in a polaroid picture as she documented her and Adam’s “Last Christmas” as family of two.
