After building an empire with hits like Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, and Tulsa King, Sheridan is turning his attention to a long-anticipated action film called F.A.S.T. The thriller is scheduled to hit theaters April 23, 2027, and it already has fans buzzing thanks to its star power and Sheridan’s reputation for high-stakes storytelling.
Here’s everything we know about F.A.S.T. so far:
Brandon Sklenar Leads the Cast
Best known to Yellowstone fans as Spencer Dutton in 1923, Brandon Sklenar will take on the lead role in F.A.S.T. He plays a former U.S. special forces officer who’s approached by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team. It’s a gritty, intense role that fits right in with Sheridan’s signature brand of tough-as-nails characters.

The Plot
The movie follows a disgraced former commando returning home, only to be recruited by the government to help dismantle a powerful drug operation tied to the CIA. Expect danger, moral gray areas, and the kind of relentless pacing Sheridan’s stories are known for.
The Director: Ben Richardson
Ben Richardson, the go-to director for many of Sheridan’s shows (1883, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown), will make his feature directorial debut with F.A.S.T. He and Sheridan previously worked together on Wind River and other Sheridan-verse staples.
Long Time Coming
Sheridan originally wrote F.A.S.T. back in the 2010s, and it was first picked up by Warner Bros. in 2018 with Chris Pratt reportedly eyed for the lead. The project stalled due to budget concerns and the pandemic. But Sheridan’s rise to one of TV’s most bankable creators gave the film new life.
