Fiery death rocks Corriedale as evil Theo commits murder

Just when we thought evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) couldn’t get any worse than his recent behaviour in Coronation Street, he’s only gone and killed one of his neighbours in Corriedale.

Fans have had their pitchforks at the ready for Theo for several months now, since he began abusing Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). We’ve been horrified by the lengths Theo has gone to to manipulate, gaslight and control his boyfriend.

What started as harsh criticism of his body and appearance soon turned into physical violence, with poor Todd being left with painful injuries on multiple occasions.

It was one such injury that led Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) to take the minibus home from Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) wedding early.

Having suspected that something wasn’t right in Theo and Todd’s relationship for quite some time, it was finally confirmed for him when he saw the bruises Todd had been hiding at the wedding.

We were so relieved when Todd confided in Billy and asked him to take him home, but our hopes of an escape for Todd were quickly dashed when Theo got on the minibus at the last minute, much to Billy’s horror.

We rejoined the trio during Corriedale, where Billy made his displeasure clear, and it dawned on Theo that the vicar knew everything.

Unfortunately, the minibus was heading straight towards the crash site that had seen Emmerdale’s John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) car collide with the Swains’.

When Carla Connor (Alison King) jumped in front of the bus to stop it from hitting the car Lisa (Vicky Myers) and Betsy (Sydney Martin) were still trapped inside, Billy swerved, causing the minibus to flip.

Things only got worse as the carnage continued, with more vehicles joining the pile-up. By the time the passengers had made their way out of the bus, things weren’t looking good for poor old Billy, who was still trapped inside.

The minibus had been steadily filling with smoke since the moment they crashed, and it wasn’t long before it was engulfed in flames.

Though Todd was initially unconscious, he awoke to find Theo over him, and was quick to ask about Billy.

It was at this point that Theo headed back into the bus and we wondered if perhaps he was about to take his first steps toward redemption… We couldn’t have been more wrong.

Billy had been stuck in the driver’s seat, trying to unbuckle the belt and free himself. Just as he managed it, Theo was there to catch him.

When Billy commented that he knew there was still some good in him, he was instantly forced to take back his words as Theo plugged the seatbelt back in, leaving the vicar trapped.

Within minutes, the whole bus had exploded, and only Theo came stumbling out of the wreckage.
