Good News for the Real-Life Dutton Family: Kelly Reilly and Husband Kyle Baugher Are Expecting Their First Child
Y: Marshals picks up after the events of Yellowstone, which just went off the air with a controversial fifth season at the end of last year. The series follows Kayce Dutton (Grimes) after he lands a job as a U.S. Marshal in Montana, putting him back into the world of law enforcement. Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, and Mo Bring Plenty will also reprise their original Yellowstone roles in Y: Marshals as Tate Dutton, Thomas Rainwater, and Mo. This could be just the beginning of yet another expansive and successful Yellowstone spin-off show.
This is far from the first time the story of John Dutton (Kevin Costner) expanded, but fans are more used to seeing the series move forward, not back. The first Yellowstone spin-off came in the form of 1883, starring Sam Elliot, and it continued further with 1923, which picked up stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Other spin-off shows, such as 1944 and The Madison, are also expected to be released in the next few years.

Did Taylor Sheridan Write ‘Y: Marshals’?
Taylor Sheridan did not write Y: Marshals, but he is involved in the series as an executive producer. He’s also said to have given minimal input on the story, which has left fans extremely skeptical about what the first chapter in the Yellowstone story under the writing of someone else will look like. Spencer Hudnut is taking over writing duties for Sheridan on Y: Marshals, and he’s also showrunning the new series. Hudnut previously worked as a writer on other shows such as SEAL Team, The Blacklist: Redemption, and Unforgettable, but this will be his first time writing or producing anything in the universe Sheridan created.
