Home and Away death aftermath continues with touching tribute to tragic character
Home and Away’s Justin Morgan and Leah Patterson will find a fitting tribute for their nephew Theo Poulos, as they try to come to terms with his untimely death. But will the heartfelt gesture finally grant them some peace?
Theo was recently killed in a tragic hit-and-run incident after heroically saving his girlfriend Lacey Miller. When Councillor Craig Wendell tried to run Lacey over, Theo managed to push her out of the way, taking the full brunt of the attack.
His devastated loved ones struggled to make sense of incident, and immediately began pointing the finger at each other. Leah was distraught when Theo’s mum blamed her for his death and told her not to come to the funeral.
According to TV Week, upcoming episodes will see Leah’s grief continue to mount as she shuts herself away from her family.
“She isn’t coping,” said Ada Nicodemou, who plays Leah. “She’s just really angry; she lashes out. She cannot get past her grief and she really detaches from everyone. She’s looking for anyone to blame. And not being able to go to the funeral is sad.”
Tensions grow between Leah and her husband Justin, as she fumes about missing the funeral. “He’s dealing with grief in a completely different way to her,” Nicodemou explained.
Elsewhere, Remi Carter and Sonny Baldwin discuss a way to honour their late friend while launching Remi’s new record label. They want to preserve Theo’s memory as he was such a huge part of their plan.
In order to be respectful, the pair seek Justin’s approval of the idea and enquire about the best approach. At first, Justin and Leah find the task too painful to think about, but they are soon inspired when they see Theo’s guitar.
The couple share fond memories of Theo’s passion for music, and decide his guitar should be put on display at the new music studio.
With Remi and Sonny’s help, they install the instrument on the wall, alongside a plaque which reads: “In this house, music is never a waste of time.” The quote is from a conversation Justin had with Theo years ago, and makes a beautiful tribute to their beloved nephew.
