Home and Away star breaks silence on whether Ricky could return for good
Home and Away has brought back a fan-favourite couple on Aussie screens earlier this week, as star Bonnie Sveen reveals whether Ricky and Brax could return to the soap in a more permanent capacity.
The series aired a first in its 38 years on the air as it moved the action to Western Australia, where fans were reunited with Sveen’s Ricky and Brax, played by Stephen Peacocke, a decade after they fled Summer Bay with their baby.
The pair now lives a more lowkey life on a cattle station, but are roped back into the old dynamics when a friend asks for a favour.
“It’s a much more isolated life than they had in the Bay and they’re just in a great place in life. Ricky has softened over the years because of motherhood, and there’s a lot less drama in her life,” Sveen told Who.

“She’s let her guard down and then hears that Dean Thompson is asking for a favour from Brax to house a fugitive,” Sveen said. ‘The stakes couldn’t be higher.”
Despite playing a dramatic storyline, Sveen explained her return to set was emotional as she reunited not just with Peacocke, but “with old crew friends”.
“Over the course of that decade away, you have no choice but to let things go, so I shut it out of my mind,” she said. “Returning never seemed likely.
“Then, actually stepping foot in the location of remote WA was next level. I channelled my emotions into the scenes because I was feeling it.”
As the scenes are set to hit UK screens on 5 next month, Sveen has weighed in on whether we could see more of Ricky and Brax in the future.
“There’s a possibility of it, but I don’t know if I can give an answer to that one,” she said.
“If Home and Away lines up in the future… I felt a really beautiful dynamic working with Steve again because he’s such a good person and a beautiful actor to work against.
“It would be amazing to revisit.”
