It’s been nearly a year since Yellowstone saddled up and rode off into TV history with its 2024 finale, but fans of the Dutton Ranch aren’t done obsessing over Rip and Beth just yet. Unfortunately, according to Cole Hauser, they may need to keep those cowboy boots parked for a little longer. The actor, who made Rip Wheeler a household name (and a tattoo choice for more than a few superfans), recently opened up about his latest cowboy-centric gig — and offered a small but underwhelming update on the highly anticipated Beth and Rip spin-off series. Spoiler: it’s still somewhere out on the dusty trail.

“Anybody who jumps on a bull is going to have not only talent, but courage,” Hauser said. “Seeing 30,000 people watching and cheering for the spot live in the stadium was pretty rewarding.”

As for Beth and Rip’s story, Hauser says he’s just as eager as the fans to return to the world of Yellowstone — or at least to Rip and Beth’s next chapter. While reports of a spin-off focused on the world’s most fiery and psychotic couple have been swirling since before the flagship series wrapped, there’s still no confirmation from Paramount, and no clear indication of when cameras might roll. It’s not the kind of concrete update fans might have hoped for, but it’s a sign that Hauser and Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton herself) are still committed to the idea — even if the project is taking its sweet Western time.
