ITV Coronation Street legend ‘to return’ 10 years after debut to take down Becky Swain

Coronation Street fans ‘know’ who will take down Becky Swain and it’s a returning legend.

Coronation Street: Lisa and Becky begin to get closer

Becky (Amy Cudden) made her debut in September as the supposed dead wife of Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). Police officer Becky was said to have been killed in 2021 after chasing an assailant who mowed her down in a getaway car.

Following her ‘death’, Lisa and daughter Besty (Sydney Martin) attempted to move on, while still grieving the loss of Becky. This year, Lisa got engaged to Carla Connor (Alison King) and everything seemed to be going well for the smitten couple.

However, it turned out that Becky is actually alive and after showing up, she explained to a shocked Lisa that she ‘had to die’ so she could go into witness protection after an undercover operation went wrong.

Since then, cunning Becky has made it her mission to get her family back – and she doesn’t care who stands in her way, including Carla. What’s more, things escalated last week when in an attempt to split her and Carla up, Becky kissed Lisa at the Rover’s Halloween party.

And in Friday’s episode (November 7) Becky was warned by corrupt cop DI Costello (Daon Broni) that she needs to move back to Spain fast. But again, Becky was adamant she was not going anywhere without Lisa and Betsy.

Now, with Becky determined to cause drama for Carla and Lisa, fans can’t help but think a former cobbles resident could be heading back to take her down. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person suggested Carla’s half-sister Kate Connor (Faye Brooks).

They penned: “They should bring back Kate Connor I’m sure she would help Carla take down Becky!” A second agreed: “Oooo yes I loved her.” A third chimed in and mused: “Maybe for Carla’s wedding as well.”

Fans will recall that Kate made her first appearance on the soap in 2015. She was last seen in 2019 when she decided to leave Weatherfield following the death of Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).

Actress Faye has previously spoken out about a return to the soap. In 2021, she told The Sun: “Well, I’m not dead. I didn’t die! Rana my on-screen lady lover died. I went travelling, I don’t know where I am!

Faye continued: “As any of us always say, it really is the best thing you’ll ever do and hopefully I will get to go back one day.”
