Fletchers’ Family Farm captured the affection of ITV audiences when it debuted in 2023, with a follow-up series arriving shortly after the original. Documenting the family’s everyday experiences of managing a farm whilst juggling domestic life, the second series witnessed Kate Fletcher undertake the enormous challenge of transforming a disused barn into holiday accommodation.

Following the programme’s broadcast, the renovated Stag Cottage has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity, with Kate Fletcher revealing that booking demand has “gone above and beyond our expectations”. The property sits in Leek, nestled beneath the Roaches and just a short distance from the Peak District.

Kelvin Fletcher, formerly known for portraying Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, describes the cottage transformation as his wife’s ‘baby’. He playfully remarks that when he cannot locate her around the farm, she’s most likely ‘spending time on her new obsession, reports Stoke on Trent Live.

Previously, Liz highlighted that the family cottage was put up for rent ‘for about two days’ last year and was almost fully sold out for the whole year, going ‘above and beyond our expectations’. Stag Cottage, available through Sykes Holiday Cottages, has been accumulating a series of five-star accolades from guests.

If you’d rather stay in a different cottage in the same area, there’s Folds Lane Farm. It sleeps six guests and has a five star rating with plenty of availability in the next few months.

Otherwise, if you don’t mind going to slightly different area, you can opt for Elv Cottage in Chester, Cheshire. The accomodation currently has a 4.9 star rating with a pub and shops only a five-minute walk away.

One guest who stayed at Stag Cottage said: “The cottage had everything we needed and we received fast and helpful advice and support from Liz. I’d recommend Stag Cottage as an idyllic, quiet and cosy home for anyone’s restful holiday. Nearby we found nice villages, pubs and amazing walks. Many thanks for the opportunity to enjoy your lovely home.”

Another guest in November was equally impressed by the property, stating: “It feels so homely as soon as you step inside. Very cosy and welcoming, beautifully decorated. A real gem! Very comfortable beds. We love how quiet it is. Kelvin and Liz were lovely and friendly. We would love to stay again! Thanks from Jules and Chris.”

Keep in mind though that if you’ve got your heart set on Stag Cottage, you may struggle to find a free booking for the exact date you want. At the time of writing, the cottage has already been fully booked out in February, with only a handful of free night in March and April.

Lancashire is known for its wide open skies, stunning landscapes and lively coastal resorts. Sykes Cottages has a wide range of self catering accommodation across the county from £42 a night.

Furthermore, the cottage doesn’t allow guests to bring in their pets, so if you were hoping for a long walk in the countryside with your dog, you will likely have to look elsewhere.
