As The Bold and the Beautiful rang in 39 years on the air, two members of the original core cast are still part of the show: Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and John McCook (Eric). Ridge (originally played by Ronn Moss) has been recast with Thorsten Kaye, and fellow OG star Susan Flannery (Stephanie) left the show and her character was killed off.

At a launch event for new streaming service BBTV, Us Weekly asked Lang and McCook if they could ever imagine their beloved characters being killed off the show. Lang told the magazine:

I never, ever think they’re gonna kill me off. I just don’t think that would happen. But it could, you never know.

What about McCook? The actor noted that Eric’s had some health issues in the past few years; he joked:

They’ve tried killing me off a couple of times in the last, late five years. It just doesn’t work.

Could you imagine B&B without Brooke or Eric? We hope both actors stick around for a long time.
