Kevin left furious by Abi’s move in Coronation Street as divorce war explodes
Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell)’s world was turned upside down on Coronation Street recently when his wife Abi Webster (Sally Carman) told him she thought they should split up.
Kev’s worst fear was that Abi had been having an affair with his brother Carl (Jonathan Howard), and that fear was confirmed in spectacular style at Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan)’s birthday party, when a text Abi sent a text meant for Carl to Kevin’s phone instead.
Abi and Carl have been lusting after each other since they first set eyes on each other in Freshco’s car park, and the inconvenience of being related by marriage only served to slow down the inevitable.
Abi tried to remain faithful to Kevin, but a combination of Carl’s sheer magnetism and Kevin somewhat pathetically lying that he still had cancer to try to keep her by his side eventually led her to give in to her feelings.

Abi and her son Alfie are currently staying with Carl in his room at the Chariot Square Hotel. This is an arrangement that suits nobody, least of all Carl who has had his side fling with James Bailey (Jason Callender) very much curtailed by having his girlfriend and her son living with him.
So far Abi doesn’t seem to have noticed that Carl goes decidedly cool when she talks about plans for the future. She’s obviously a lot more keen on him than he is on her now that the realities of domestic life with her have set in for him.
For her it’s all about a fresh start and a glorious new future with a younger, less grizzled Webster brother. And that means making the split with Kevin official.
In upcoming episodes Abi and Carl are struggling for money. Obviously unable to carry on working for Kevin, Abi has tried to find work at another garage locally, but she gets a call informing her that she didn’t get the job.
She’s sure that Kevin has done something to sabotage her chances and she heads to number 13 to confront him.

Carl has his own plans for making some money and gives Dylan (Liam McCheyne) the details of a car he wants him to steal, though Dylan refuses. Abi makes a note of the vehicle – does she plan on stealing it herself?
Against this backdrop of the couple being so strapped for cash, Kevin is furious and upset when he opens a letter and sees it’s from Abi’s solicitor, and that she’s started divorce proceedings.
Is she planning to try to get her hands on the garage and whatever money Kevin has?
