MAGGIE’S NEXT VICTIM: CORONATION STREET CONFIRMS WHO IS IN HER D.E.A.D.L.Y SIGHTS

Coronation Street‘s Maggie Driscoll sparks another row next week – proving that she hasn’t really changed. The Driscoll matriarch recently promised to stop causing trouble after learning that her son Ben had heart problems, which could have been sparked by stress. But the saintly act was never going to last…

In upcoming scenes, Maggie continues to harbour resentment over Leanne Battersby’s recent offer to buy her share of the Rovers Return. She knows that Leanne was in cahoots with her sister Eva Price, who wants Maggie out of the business.

When Alya Nazir pops into the pub, Maggie “conveniently” mentions Leanne’s big offer. Maggie’s smug when it becomes clear that Alya knows nothing about it.

“Leanne is currently Alya’s business partner at Speed Daal,” our Corrie source reminds us. “As far as Alya is concerned, they’ve been getting along well despite some initial teething troubles.

“The news that Leanne was looking to move on is a real slap in the face for Alya, who would have been left high and dry at the restaurant.”

Alya’s fuming as it dawns on her that Leanne was willing to give up her share of Speed Daal to pursue this new opportunity.

It’s surely only a matter of time before Alya speaks her mind – will this drive a wedge between her and Leanne?

“Leanne and Alya go back a long way,” our insider continues. “Leanne used to be in a serious relationship with Alya’s late dad Kal, so any sense of betrayal would hit close to home.

“Of course, it’s also a difficult position for Leanne to be in, because she has loyalty to her sister Eva. As Eva was so desperate to regain some sense of control at the pub, Leanne had to seriously consider helping her out.”

Maggie’s latest stirring shows that it may only be a matter of time before she causes further chaos at the pub.

She’s currently on her best behaviour – at least relatively speaking – after Ben warned that the Driscoll family rows were pushing him over the edge.

“Maggie’s trying to hold back every time she’s tempted to snap at Eva,” our spy adds. “But her conversation with Alya proves that she still holds a grudge against both Eva and Leanne.

“Life is never dull with Maggie around, so she could be a ticking timebomb.”

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
