Soap opera star asks public for help amidst ‘concerning’ security breach: ‘Really freaking me out’
“General Hospital” star Kirsten Storms recently turned to the public this month to reveal her own scary storyline. The 41-year-old actress said that she is stuck in an ongoing hacking situation that has compromised her personal devices and digital accounts.
Storms, who plays Maxie Jones on the longtime ABC soap, detailed the security breach in a series of Instagram videos posted Friday. The “Zenon” alum, who announced her move to Tennessee with her daughter in July, said she’s been targeted by unknown intruders since December.
“I was wondering if anyone who follows me knows someone who investigates or looks into devices being hacked. My cell phone and my internet router, when I moved to Tennessee, were both accessed by someone or several people who are not me or anyone I know,” she began.
Adding that she had to get a new device after her iCloud was accessed, she said she’s still using her own Apple account. “But I really need to find someone who can look into it for me,” Storms explained.
Storms asked fans to contact her via Instagram DM with any professional leads.
In a follow-up video, she also told fans that she had already filed a police report with the Franklin, Tennessee, police department, but noted they lacked a dedicated cyber division, which is why she turned to social media for help.
Additionally, Storms had to fly to Los Angeles to film “General Hospital” while the intrusions were occurring, which made it difficult for her to monitor the situation. However, she said she’s been back now for two weeks and is still experiencing “some stuff with my internet that’s still very concerning.”

“I just don’t know what to do,” Storms said. “I would have to submit it to the state people. And I would really like to get this figured out now. It’s really freaking me out.”
Storms has yet to provide an update on whether the hacking issues have been resolved.
This crisis follows a major health scare for the star. Storms returned to “General Hospital” on Feb. 12 following a leave of absence that began last July. She later disclosed that her time away was due to a brain aneurysm diagnosis.
While surgery was initially considered, Storms shared an update in December stating that her neurosurgeon placed her in the “gray zone”—meaning the aneurysm is not yet at a mandatory surgery size.
Her medical team will continue to monitor the condition, but in the meantime, she’s allowed to return to work.
