THE RECKONING: MEGAN STAR CONFIRMS ‘COMEUPPANCE’ AFTER TACKLING HER SCARIEST ROLE YET!

Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has confirmed that Megan Walsh will get her ‘comeuppance’ as the long-running show’s current grooming plot continues to unfold.

The actress’ first appearance in the ITV soap came last year and it was quickly revealed that Megan had been carrying out an illicit affair with Will Driscoll, who has only just turned sixteen, after his move to Weatherfield alongside his father, Ben, step-mum Eva Price, and grandmother, Maggie.

With Will’s family completely unaware that she has been grooming Will, Megan was taken in by the Driscolls, who moved to the Street back in October when Ben purchased the Rovers Return for Eva, who were keen for Will to keep up his athletics training following their move from Hull.

In a bid to hide the truth, Megan has been seen striking up a romance with Daniel Osbourne, but she was recently left mortified when his son, Bertie, pulled out the test in front of Daniel, as well as Ken Barlow, Alya Nazir and Kirk Sutherland at No.1 during the child’s birthday gathering.

They ended up having a chat, in which Daniel explained to Megan about what he went through with his ex, Daisy Midgeley, and Megan continued to insist that the test was for a student at school and suggested they drop the issue. But, her pregnancy was later confirmed.

She was seen breaking down in tears to Eva and her sister, Leanne Battersby. She revealed she had decided to have an abortion, despite having polycystic ovaries which can make it difficult to conceive, meaning it could be her only chance to have a child. Leanne late joined her at the abortion clinic and made it clear it wasn’t too later to change her mind.

And while she’s not told Leanne and Eva, Megan did change her mind and has since told Will she’s pregnant with his child. When Will reminded Megan that they had used protection, she simply noted that “accidents happen,” and revealed her plans to leave.

But a new twists has since aired in Corrie. As Will geared up to compete in a school track race, he was surprised to come face-to-face with his former rival, Lee. The newcomer was disappointed when Megan confirmed she wouldn’t be attending the race, and was quick to talk to her when he later bumped into the teacher at the Rovers.

Megan quickly avoided having a drink with him and told him to meet her outside where it became clear he too was one of her grooming victims. She told him what they’d shared in the past had been special but claimed she had moved on and was now in love with a fellow teacher.

Upset, Will found Lee, who revealed that he hadn’t come back just for the race, and that he was hoping to see Megan. He revealed they had a thing last year, and when Will enquired if they slept together, Lee confirmed that was what he meant.

Now, speaking to BBC Radio York, actress Beth said that, as the plotline develops, Will “comes to realise he is a victim [and that] it’s not love and she will get her comeuppance”, but in the meantime, she has been determined to handle the “incredibly dark” role with “as much care as possible”.

She was also asked if she gets recognised in public or if anyone had given her a hard time about her controversial character, to which Beth said: “It’s scary taking on a role like this but people seem to be more understanding then they used to be that’s it’s a soap.”
